So Fergus et al, where should I start with this set? I've the house to myself this evening, so I might even get to listen to an entire CD! I'm not coming to the Cantatas as a complete noob of course, but if I were?

according to dear Fergus' Bach calendar, Sunday will be the 20th after Trinity, which means BWV.49, 162 & 180.

Actually Simon I would suggest that you start with some of the celebratory Cantatas as they obviously are the ones that exude the joy. I know that you are a virtuous and upstanding member of society so you will know which Lithurgical events that I am referring but a very good place to start might be with the Cantatas for Christmas Day and for the Second Day of Christmas on Vol. 14. Enjoy!

I tried to update this several times earlier today and kept getting server errors, what I wanted to say was BWV 106 and BWV 62.

Fergus asked for pics on the Recent Purchases thread, so I attempted to take a few. My phone kept switching off every time I tried to use the flash, so the lighting is a bit weird for some of these!
