No no, it hasn't happened yet, but I'm haunted by the memories of long ago.

Once the pre arrives I'll have
- 10 x E88CC
- 8 x EF184
- 8 x 6C33C-B
in my main system, and
- 3 x ECC88
- 2 x ECC83
- 4 x EL34
in the sitting room. As it stands I'm not willing to pay dealer prices for valves, but eBay is somewhat dangerous...

Here is a review of a fairly limited tetster on tnt-audio .. I don't know if it would work with the valves you have ..

http://www.tnt-audio.com/accessories/tu ... ter_e.html

Other option .. maybe a group of people could share the cost of a valve tester ...

you should do like the what hifi editor of yore; have a firm build you a valve based car stereo for your Ferrari, not in return for good reviews of course...!!
