Yeah, think so.

Also didn't help that the An Post guy delivering was a complete bollocks!

Okay, I really need to stop with this crap. So far I've bought 26 EF184 valves, and I only need 8. They weren't exactly expensive, but even still. Ebay is a dreadful, dreadful thing.

I'm done now, and hopefully the amps will be going in to get revalved, rebiased, etc. sometime this week. Closer inspection suggested that the "problems" weren't really problems as the white spot proved to be silver, but even still I think these are the original input valves and have never been replaced. I started to get some hisses and pops through the speakers as the valves were warming up, so it's time they got done anyway. Will report in due course.

God no, do you think I'm stupid?

I ordered one set of 9. Then I saw a set of 11 Telefunkens (supposedly) at a good price so I bought those too thinking they might actually be better. They were delivered first and I'm pretty sure they're not Telefunkens at all, so while they might be fine I'm not sure what the hell they actually are. Then the first set of 9 were taking too long to arrive and I got a little trigger happy with the eBay mobile app and bought 6 Siemens valves at a good price merely because they were at a good price. As it turns out the 9 that I ordered in the first place have now arrived, were produced in the Mullard factory in the UK according to the codes, and I'll probably ending up using those and those only.

So I ask again, do you think I'm stupid...?! :)
