Radio Programmes

Post by Ivor »

Older viewers might remember I occasionally put up podcasts of my radio shows... here's one from a few days ago.

As we're about to record all broadcasts direct to a hard drive podcasting should be come a lot easier from now on.

Ta BB. That one was a bit mainstream for me.... (apart from the world music I suppose) I don't usually finish with reggae versions of pop songs but it suited the sunset.

Actually if I had one critisism it would be the reggae. I'm not a fan. But that doesn't mean it shouldn't be played. Just not my cup of tea.

Yep. When a programme crosses several genres like that it's inevitable that some listeners will lose interest in some songs. Reggae appears occasionally (usually when there's sunshine!) and it will always be something different. Sometimes heavy on the Lee Perry, or dub, or once I did an entire programme of country songs done by reggae artists... not for novelty value but because they were all really good covers and it was a bit of fun.
In short I'd never even try to appeal to everyone. People who care about music tend to have as many pet hates as they do favourite artists...
