Rock - what are you listening to?
Re: Rock - what are you listening to?
Told yis ages ago it was brilliant! That and The Beat Club Sessions. Also both are available on vinyl :) The Beat Club Sessions in particular are a revelation, featuring a young and hungry Rory doing his thing and then some!

Just pulled the trigger on that from my wish list. I've recently been catching up on a number of his recordings that I missed first time round, and enjoying the experience.

Watt is my favourite TYA album, it's all good except for the shocking quality of the live "Sweet Little Sixteen" Going to be listening to a lot of TYA over the next few evenings. I don't know "A Space in Time." Any views on it Dermot?cybot wrote:Ah classic! Re: Rock - what are you listening to?
Well I have two copies. One American (Columbia) and one on the Chryalis label. I played side one of the American thing and it sounded dreadful. Will have a listen to the English copy later and report back. As for the music, well it concentrates on the more 'commercial' aspects of the TYA sound. Not bad but not brilliant. BTW have you ever heard Undead? Absolutely vintage TYA with the best version of Going Home by a mile and short with it too. And you're right about Sweet Little Sixteen :)JAW wrote:Watt is my favourite TYA album, it's all good except for the shocking quality of the live "Sweet Little Sixteen" Going to be listening to a lot of TYA over the next few evenings.
