For many years the big bands had a song and dance man, Ellington was no exception as he had the wonderful cornetist and violinist, Ray Nance, aka Floorshow:

Duke, Duke and more Duke at thirty three and a third:

It was panned by the critics on its original release but it has stood the test of time. There is some very fine music on this album:
