Out of interest, what would you have considered?

I hear ya. My old Usher/MFA/Gamut system sounded very good before I went through this years debacle. But the Ushers were just too big and too heavy to manage.

In the back of my mind I'm thinking I might dabble in computer audio in the coming year but then again... I might not. I might vow to use my vinyl setup bit more instead! A preamp? Again maybe... maybe not. Things sound good the moment so why mess it up?

Assume you may consider the jkdac and I think it is the only way to go for reasonably priced high quality playback on PC.
I still use the cdp as I enjoy doing a pseudo vinyl tactile jobbie every now and then when playing albums but mainly use the dac
and once playing it doesn't make a jot of difference.
ahhhh my hifi year.....

parked the boston acoustics in the shed
replaced them with a pair of golden ears
relegated the angstrom's to second fiddle
and powered up the denon once again
