James, this is a mains plugtop that can accept up to four mains cables. Years ago I bought a couple, they work as mains plugtops but there is no way they could 'improve' the electricity supply to equipment. It is possible that I still have one in the garage, if so anyone here can have it for free. A bottle of Midleton whiskey and I will deliver it in person......

Tom I just got the regenerator on friday and having a look at the back it seems to require either some kind of converter or maybe the thing in your garage. 6 connections on the back but a three pin socket wont be going in there. The outlets are the same as the female receiver connecting a power lead into the back of an amp or cdp. I would have to go you to collect as I have seen the price of midleton whiskey!

Is there another easy solution. Will have to check in work as this unit is really designed for computer components.

Tony, you will need to (either) reterminate your mains or get some old computer mains cables with IEC male one end and female the other. I 'might' have a few in the attic, I will look tomorrow. You are welcome to them if I find any. The plugtop referred to above is a 13 amp plugtop with provision to connect up to four cables. I will report tomorrow.....

Thanks a lot Tom, I didn't want to reterminate in a hurry tonight until I put a bit of effort into finding the right power strip. Sure I have seen them many times but they are generally in industry rather than home use.

Think I found the yoke I should have ordered on the day. I suppose if I can find that type of connector or just chop up the one I have and use it on a normal 4 or 6 way mains strip

Bought a single 3 pin plug female connector aka what is on a standard 4-way power strip and also a plug in 4-way adapter(no cable) €8.50 and hey presto regenerator now running my amp and cdp. 30 mins of listening and don't want to go into hyperbole over it but it seems to add a significant bit of depth to voices and instruments. I always find it hard to describe what I think I am hearing but separation of instruments is more obvious and soundstage is deep and to my ears really dense. Put simpy I am very happy with it. As per usual I haven't the time or inclination at this moment to do plug it in take it out and listen all over again tests.

It would seem to bring something immediately positive to the party but be warned it is big deep and pig ugly and is designed to be in a data centre rack rather than a sitting room. Reading threads on other forums some people seem to locate it somewhere separate to the living room and feed a supply from that point. The fan seems to come in threads also but it is very quiet and doesn't interfere with the sound.

Running the amp which is rated at 300w and my cdp runs this at approx 60%. I think anybody who has preamp and power amps need to go for the 1500w version to have headroom.
