Audio Gear Insurance

Post by Ken Moreland »

Any recommendations on insurance specifically for items such as audio equipment? Domestic home insurance typically sets limits related to the house value so if your contents are destroyed by fire etc contents are estimated at 10% ie 30,000 euro for a 300,000 euro house but there are limits for each item of maybe 1000 euro. So if somebody breaks in and legs it with your Kharmas and/or DCS stack you might get only a grand or two.

I've clarified this with my insurance company lots of times, and they've confirmed that the hifi is covered. I think the individual item limit is 10% of the overall contents amount insured, so it's just about enough.
