Re: Rock - what are you listening to?
I suppose you could call it indie with a twist of the old west, with folk and jazz thrown in (hope that doesn't sound too arsey). The 2 main guys were in Giant Sand at one point, have colaborated with Iron & Wire and Lambchop previously. Most of their albums are worth a listen. "Hot Rail" was where I started, "Feast of Wire" is also good. "Carried to Dust" too. Named after a Californian town apparently, based in Tuscon. Cool Album covers too.tony wrote:What is this calexico stuff like? I think they are coming to Ireland shortly.Never heard a think by them. Have seen them a few times and they put on a good show, usually have a few brass players with them so you get the full mariachi treatment too.
Think I saw that they're playing The Olympia next Feb. not sure if it's any sooner but they are woth catchin live.

Glen Hansard "Rhythm And Repose" 96Khz/24 bit from HDTracks. Fantastic album and the hires version makes it just that bit better. I have been listening to this for a while and it just keeps getting better.

Re: Rock - what are you listening to?
is it "the frames" unplugged, I used to be a big frames fan, but like radiohead, I think they benefitted from third party production. Sort of disappeared up their own, if you know what I mean when they started self producing... to my ears at least....!!HiFiFan wrote:Glen Hansard "Rhythm And Repose" 96Khz/24 bit from HDTracks.
