ahhhhhh...........

Post by jaybee »

listening chair is back....

which means hifi is back in position....

let it warm up with Emmylou's "wrecking ball" while cooking dinner.... by way of a decent Rioja.... (a la Rioja alta-Vina Ardanza 2001, if you must know.....)

With a big glass and sated appetite I was transported....

Not often, but every now and then one remembers why we obsess.... the aul hifi is far from perfect these days, but absence makes the heart etc....

A random remembering of the briefest of glimpses of elbow at the olympics closing suggested a spin of their truly beautiful 2001 "Asleep in the Back"

yours etc

Happy Out

Great post! Those moments are rare, but when they arrive they're pure gold.

I have been living vicariously for so long now to various of all of your exploits both in the budget end and the stratospheric that without even listening much ( apart from the zeppelin...) I became jaded with comparisons and minutiae...

If I can expand on a previous...

One could endlessly debate the relative merits and shortcomings of say a nice Rioja vs. a good claret vs. a new world showstopper...

at the end of the day they're all better than blue nun...!!!

Great to see a good working band close out the olympics. I thought they stole the show(if you could call it that) To be fair only the brits could pull something like this off and make it all work.

I've never been happier for a band.... they stuck to their guns for years, making great music, and well recorded...

they deserve every bit of success they get...!!

Elbow were the highlight of that closing ceremony for me. I should probably buy at least one of their albums.

Cast of thousands is my favourite but at this stage you can buy them from play.com for about €4-5 a cd so take your pick

I'm pretty sure I'd start with Seldom Seen Kid alright.

Thanks for the offer of a "loan" JB, but I think I might actually just buy it. I know I know, no recession on here, etc...
