Recent Purchases
Re: Recent Purchases
^^ thanks Darren, I used to own the Jansons set on EMI, but sold it because I never really took to it. I have ummed and arghed about getting another Rachmaninov set for quite a while, because he isn't a composer I regularly pick up and play, so this will at least prove to be a useful re-evaluation of his work.

Yes, I was just reading some articles on the Eroica symphony and I realised that I don't have a recording of the similarly titled variations.fergus wrote:bombasticDarren wrote:

It may come as no surprise that I am easing up considerably on my CD purchasing - partly for financial reasons, but also because I simply have enough CD's to keep me going for a very long while. I have hit saturation point, and I am glad that I recognise this.
Re: Recent Purchases
I have slowed down to a stop and am currently making my way through and enjoying my collection, I have brought my collection to a very satisfactory stage and am careful about buying any new CDs.bombasticDarren wrote:It may come as no surprise that I am easing up considerably on my CD purchasing - partly for financial reasons, but also because I simply have enough CD's to keep me going for a very long while. I'm sure I started saying things like that about a thousand CDs ago!Seán wrote:I have slowed down to a stop and am currently making my way through and enjoying my collection, I have brought my collection to a very satisfactory stage and am careful about buying any new CDs.bombasticDarren wrote:It may come as no surprise that I am easing up considerably on my CD purchasing - partly for financial reasons, but also because I simply have enough CD's to keep me going for a very long while. Re: Recent Purchases
I've bought more than two thousand CDs over the past six years so it is time to slow down, it is very difficult though, I have time and space constraints too so that helps (to control my urges, I mean).Ciaran wrote:I'm sure I started saying things like that about a thousand CDs ago!Seán wrote:I have slowed down to a stop and am currently making my way through and enjoying my collection, I have brought my collection to a very satisfactory stage and am careful about buying any new CDs.bombasticDarren wrote:It may come as no surprise that I am easing up considerably on my CD purchasing - partly for financial reasons, but also because I simply have enough CD's to keep me going for a very long while.
