Simon came over for a listening session (partly so I could show off my Kharma sub!) and we listened to:
(Mahler 8: final track Alles vergängliche. Overwhelming.)
(Simon's: we listened to El Salón México)
(Simon's again: we heard the Sanctus of the Duruflé.)
(stunning music, playing and piano sound: not for the faint-hearted!)
(spreading the word about Zelenka)
(Opening of the Dvořák piano concerto. Luscious believable sound. Very enjoyablr record, an excellent way in to this concerto.)
(Tchaikovsky songs. Wonderfully tuneful, and not at all undersold by Lina Mkrtchyan)
(Richter in Debussy: very convincing).
Simon also played a CD of the cantata Wachet Auf for which I don't have the details.
