It´s been a long time since I last heard the EMI recording, so I don´t recall it very well, but the Concertgebouw performance is certainly very special. It is the only version of Nielsen's 4th that I have and I have only ever listen to his symphonies 1 to 4 and I must say that it is my least favorite of the four. I find it very very good plus it was a real bargain so altogether it makes it one of my favorite box set. That being said, I only owe about 600 cds of a little bit of everything and there are not many pieces that I have two versions or more of.
