^^ Fergus, I am really quite reluctant to do this and I'll tell you why.

Books: I no longer purchase paperbacks, preferring to download onto my Amazon Kindle. Some books I will delete after having read once, others I will leave on the device to perhaps read again in the future, but no work of fiction ever gets more than 2 reads from me.

Films: I have stopped buying DVDs, preferring to stream online. At most, I will watch a DVD twice... a couple of masterpieces 3 times, but then always sell the DVD, as I'd rather circulate the money round, instead of having them collect dust. I know World Cinema is an interest of yours too, so you might be interested in checking out this fabulous site:

http://mubi.com/home

for a very small fee, you can watch over 500 superb films and as many shorts from around the world. this is how I now tend to view my films. If I want to watch a new release and pay for it, then I will use the Virgin, Blinkbox or Film4 sites, but this doesn't happen very often.

Music: My classical collection DOES NOT fit into the books or films camp, because it is timeless, hopefully will stay with me for life and live up to repeated listens. As a consequence, I want the hard copy merchandise with me, for as long as it is made. I don't want to buy a Brennan (or whatever) and download it all onto one box.

I thought that might be your response Jared so I am not surprised. I am of the same opinion but I have more scope for storage than you obviously have. It will be interesting to see what happens when you purchase that 181st CD!!!

You could do what other forum members have done and simply get rid of the jewel cases...

I have thought about this, but it's difficult to resell them or file them in a correct order in a binder... and that doesn't really account for the wonderful boxsets, digipacks and other artistic wotnot you get these days...

Indeed. I don't think I could do this myself, but others swear by it.
