Well then, the answer is simple: talk to dCS! I'm sure they'll be happy to help: just mention my name!

I love this plan. By mention, you mean something like "Ciaran's picking up the tab", right?

Came home this evening and sat down for a listen. Completely different sound to my ears.Hope it is not the alcochol. What was brittle and bright and somewhat sharp when Ivor called early morning last week is now definitely smoother and more pleasant to listen to. Harsh tremble is now more rounded.Detail still there but have happily settled in to a long listening session Is it the power supply late at night? Will have a listen on monday morning during business hours to see if my speakers have magically just reached run in or was it the vino working its magic. Very much hope the speakers have reached that moment rather than Simons power issues. If it is the wine well thats ok I can just drink some more

Hopefully it's the wine. Must do a few experiments there myself. I'll probably find I need to upgrade a few bottles.

there's nothing in the area to cause a significant change in mains. It's 99% residential and I've never heard of mains being an issue around here. Accept that your system now sounds fine, open a bass tightening Bordeaux and enjoy.

I dunno about that ivor. Not being taumatised by this means I have no reason to doss around out in cloneys or feign inability to do housework and chores. I will have to pretend things are not right yet and just keep drinking.

I can call over, mutter "tut tut tut" and shake my head, while drinking wine, if that would help.
