Is the Left channel the same as the left speaker

Post by PeterK »

I was using my Cardas test record and the free HifI Choice set up CD and found the following:

CD replay using the Isotek system set up CD that when the announcer said you should hear my voice coming from the left speaker it did and likewise for the right.

Using the Cardas sweep and burn in record I found that when George Cardas said you should hear my voice saying greetings from the left channel his voice came from the right speaker and and when he said greetings from the right channel his voice emerged from the left speaker.

Question therefore is am I set up right? Any help you guys can afford would be much appreciated. I am wondering when he referring to the left channel it looking down the room from behind the speakers with left channel being on my left looking towards the listening position.

Either your cartridge tags or the interconnects from the turntable to the phonostage or the interconnects from phonostage to preamp are the wrong way around.....

No problem other than the channel swap.

Hi Fran. Perfect diagnosis. Sorted. Wrong lead into phonostage. Thanks a million.
