Speaking of organ music do you have any Christmas performances scheduled Simon? Perhaps a few duets with Baby Si shrieking accompaniment LOL!!Diapason wrote:Not to worry, gents, there's a whole world of other organ music to get through instead! If Widor 5 does nothing for you (even the theme and variations first movement?) then I think you can rule Widor out of your future listening. The French romantic school isn't for everyone, and I know plenty of organists who hate this stuff.
What are you listening to?

Nothing on the cards this year, Fergus. I'm taking some time off from the organ bench while other matters take precedence! I'm still working on Penny's musical education, but you'll be glad to hear that we got her a new mobile for her cot and it plays Bach, Mozart and Chopin. Widor will have to wait!

Re: What are you listening to?
yes sorry for the negative post, I will endeavour to broaden my repertoire in this field in due course, Simon... Handel's Organ Concertos will probably be a good start for me... maybe in 2012.Diapason wrote:Not to worry, gents, there's a whole world of other organ music to get through instead!

Re: What are you listening to?
Actually, you probably should start with the Handel Organ Concertos, Jared, since I get nothing out of them whatsoever!
