hi zofo i was speaking to my friend on saturday -he is actually in his house in burr today
he said that the pa tannoys that he has are
tannoy wildcat range and they are the biggest in the range a 15 inch dual concentric bin and a 15 inch bass bin
4 boxes altoghether from memory he said that they were known as jaguar and leopard they have passive crossovers which would be set for pa and could be refined for hifi use
this combination was later made into a tannoy fsm studio monitors speakers for hifi use
so thats it he dealt in a lot of vintage hifi and said that it will be very hard to find tannoy now.
so if you are interested -800 euro delivered -he is there now in burr for a week but will be back at christmas time again-there may be a little information on the internet to read up on

Re: Wanted-Vintage Tannoys
I am not sure how I could handle shipping but if the speakers mentioned above don’t work out I have a fantastic pair of Spendor BC1s. Obviously not Tannoy’s but should have the vintage sound you are looking for. Bought the pair a few years back from a Spendor engineer who did some significant updates on them.
The units are as follows:
• New Rosewood cabinets
• Red AINiCo drive units rebuilt using new moving parts
• HF1300 tweeters, cleaned and serviced
• Crossovers fitted with Wima polypropylene caps.
• Van Den Hul internal cables
• Gold rear binding posts
• Radiused port tubes
• Grilles recovered with black `vynair'
• New Badges etc.
• Custom Atacama stands to suit BC1

Giant Haystacks- thanks for getting back to me and sorry for the late reply.
I was hoping for an older set of speakers to fit in with what I have but again thanks
a million for making the enquiry!
HiFiFan- I have heard great things about the BC1's.
What kind of money are you asking for those?

Hi Zofo,
I looked into it and the cost of shipping them to you just wouldn't make sense (I live in the US) in relation to the cost of them.

Zofo,
If you can't find Spendor BC1s, B&W DM4s have virtually the same drivers and have better bass. I've several pairs and love them.
