Nor I, maybe those speakers are "keepers"!. I did have several pairs of Tannoy speakers over the years (not the dual concentric though) and loved them all. Not exactly colour free but very likable speakers.

you would have to probably at this stage ask a man in the uk called dave smith he trades under dk loudspeakers -im not sure on that-he restores vintage tannoys he is in the uk
i have a friend in navan who has a set of 15inch altec speakers that dave smith done work on and they look like new.i spoke to him about 15 years ago and he said he can restore tannoy speakers that tannoy can not
just out of intrest i have a friend who is retiring to burr he is from sollihull in the uk. he has a what he describes as a huge tannoy pa systeym which he said was excellent as pa goes i will try to find out more incase you are planning something for the hay shed
my own experience of 15inch you need really tight amplification because the cone is moving so much

Hi all,

Sorry for the late reply, just after getting home.
Thanks for the advice everyone, I've just started back listening to vinyl again and trying to build a system.
My amp and turntables date back from the 50's so I'm trying to get quality speakers
from around that era to suit if I can and my heart is set on Tannoys.

Thanks for the link Gerry D and if you could inquire from your friend Giant Haystacks that would be great.

Cheers!
