I am not sure exactly but is quite prolific and I have not heard anything at all by him. As I always like a good Guitar Concerto I thought that this would be an interesting introduction to his work for me.

^^ well don't start collecting his Symphonies like Bach Cantatas... we'll never see you again! LOL

seriously though, his symphonies must be simpler, smaller boned affairs like Haydn's for him to knock out that many?

A quick check on Wiki reveals 67 numbered Symphonies and 434 Opus Numbers....

If I like him I am in trouble all right LOL!!!

^^ 67 symphs is truly dedication to the cause of keeping the symphonic form alive, isn't it?

although that's more like a cottage industry he's got going on in his back shed... credit to him!

Looking forward to hearing this one. The Budapest Quartet's classic Columbia recordings from 1951/2 have been dogged by intermittent availability so when I saw this set in Tower for only €30 I snapped it up.
Gryphon Diablo 300, dCS Rossini (with matching clock), Kharma Exquisite Mini, Ansuz C2, Finite Elemente Master Reference.

I think that's the earlier mono set, enjoy, is it the Library of Congress recordings perhaps? I'm not sure though. I have this set and it is available on Amazon for a very good price, it is a truly magnificent set and it is beautifuly remastered too.

No, it's not the Library of Congress recordings (which I believe have been collected on the Bridge label), but the first set of the Beethoven quartets which the Budapest recorded (in mono). I only know these performances by their exalted reputation - it will be interesting to see how they compare to the Italians, the Takacs and the Tokyo Quartet.
