There are some performances in music that are dear to your heart and this is one of those for me.

agreed wholeheartedly... I really don't understand the strength of feeling shown by this piece's detractors... for me, it's one of the finest Religious Choral Works of its era, and this is a particularly fine performance. Having eventually had the courage to sell the Karajan version (too laboured and mushy) on ebay, I will be looking for a replacement to complement this one in due course, but it will be another with smaller forces I think... any suggestions?fergus wrote:
