Fergus, I am very fond of Jeanne Lamon and the Tafelmusk, what do you make of that recording?

All that I can say Seán is that the musicians’ pedigrees speak for themselves and that this is wonderful music and music making with very polished performances from all concerned and it comes well recommended!

This has long been a favourite version of this work and it stands comparison with any other.

Gustav Mahler
Symphony No. 5

Junge Deutsche Philharmonie
Rudolf Barshai - conducting.

This is a powerful performance of Mahler's Fifth Symphony by the young German orchestra, it's one of my favourites.
