There was a corresponding DVD (or maybe it was shown on TV at some stage) which featured footage either from the recording sessions themselves, or rehearsal for the album tour. Sorry to be vague on the details, but I remember enjoying it even more than the CD. It's more-or-less the same tracklist, but has an even better live feel (because it's live!) and feels more spontaneous. Worth hunting out.

I was going to mention that too!! I have it on a dusty video somewhere in the house and it is certainly well worth hunting out....

The odd thing about "From the Cradle" was that while Clapton was always considered blues guitarist this was, in 1994, his first real blues album. It was recorded live in the studio on two track stereo with only minor overdubs on percussion. Everything else is recorded in one live take. Having musicians such as Jim Keltner on Drums, Andy Fairweather-Low on Guitar, Jerry Portnoy on Harmonica and many many more great players gives the album a genuine live "Blues session" feel. Clapton did go on to make several more ostensibly 'blues' albums but as mentioned in a previous post the production was flat, sterile, cold and completely unsympathetic to blues.
The track listing reflects the album title being some of the great 'standards' of impromptu blues jams.

It's not a bad album...Alot more layered then his last one.
Some dodgy moments though,the last track wouldn't be out of
place on some shite 80's album.(Phil Collins comes to mind)
