Re: Who knows what about thermal wrapping on houses?

Recently we got our UPVC windows and doors serviced. The fitter replaced the seals, all opening handles and any hinges that were worn. The windows were replacements for the original teak windows and around 25 years old. Air tightness and sound isolation are the big wins resulting from this work. My ...

Lowering the 'Noise Floor'

Down the years I have read much about various hi-fi components lowering the noise floor. Implied is the message that lowering the noise floor increases the dynamic range of the system. I cannot comment on such claims but recent activity in our house did lower the noise floor. And the important word ...

Re: Help me hear the TV sound....

Thanks to everyone who replied, seems to be a more common problem than I thought. My hearing aids support Bluetooth so one of the Bluetooth transmitters should work for me. Hope at last, thanks again.....

Help me hear the TV sound....

I use hearing aids but still miss most of the conversation on TV and videos. I have Soundbar and blending it with the TV sound means that I get most of the News and weather forecasts on TV.

Is there a simple way to hear more without filling the room with amplification and speakers?

Thanks

Re: Any help for an old ex audiophile who now has a room to call his own?

Position the speakers alongside the two walls from the opposite corner where your listening chair is sited. Move them back and forward includi...

Humax Freesat Recorder

Is it possible to copy a recorded TV program made on our Humax Freesat Recorder? It would be great if we could copy it to a USB stick but I have no idea how to do this if such action is possible. The recorder has a hard disk drive on which saved TV programs are stored. The Humax box froze and refuse...
