Re: OS in RamDisk
Ubuntu Live USB into RAM. https://calvin.me/create-persistent-ubuntu-16-04-live-usb-even-boots-ram/ It is far easier and more straightforward way than windows in ram. With this, one can completely turn off sata. The sound is better comparing to my optimized Windows 2012 R2 on SSD with linear PSUs. ...

Re: probably the best usb to i2s device
Nige2000,
This blue board has possibility to remove ferrite beads and power clock with external 3.3V. Have you tried that? If so does it brings any improvement?
Does the bypassing Soekris isolators brings SQ improvment?

Nige2000,
Does bring any improvement to the boards like Soekris that have their own reclocking: FPGA and/or flipflops?

Re: MQN
ok, after more playing around think I've got the ultimate version, even more transparency, good bass, treble. uploaded v61. having great fun testing it with 1980's Van Halen, which can sound pretty flat on lesser players, but very good with v61. v62 has the best growling bass, might be the final on...

Compared to v30, v34 is much better - clarity, purity of tone, colour, more life to the music.
Very enjoyable to listen to v34, thanks sbgk.

v34 is fantastic!

Re: MQN
uploaded haswell v29 play with the hard coded device name as probably still sounds best. So back to the hex editor for those that want to use that version. use it with the v19 control/loader. do find the bass to be superior on the ldn version, think that's a good sign as it's one of the hardest thi...

Re: MQN
Hi Gordon, What about this: 1. mqndeviceinfo.exe >> mqnparam.txt 2. mqnDeviceNameReplacer.exe - reads what is in mqnparam.txt - opens mqnplayer.exe for edit - replaces the device name and fills with 0s at the end if needed Both sound quality and user friendliness is saved. Me personally I do not min...

Re: MQN
For me the latest mqnplayer v15 ldn with hardcoded device name is still the best. I am using it with newest mqncontrol and loader for haswell (best combination so far). mqnplayer with device name in text file gives a little haze in my setup. Most preferably I would like to listen to the newest mqnpl...
