Accentus: Transcriptions [Equilbey] https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61eAjOsWqwL._UF894,1000_QL80_.jpg Some years ago I went through a phase of collecting recordings made by Laurence Equilbey. I liked his style and I really liked the sound of the ensemble Accentus. However, this particular CD wa...

Re: RIP Pollini

Sad to hear that, he is a favourite pianist of mine. I had a ticket to hear him live once, but the concert was cancelled.

Re: Computer guidance needed

Congratulations on taking on this ambitious project - you had hinted at it here a while ago. I would share your reluctance to buy a (shudder) Mac, but I have nothing useful to contribute, I fear! I feel sure it must be possible with Windows, but if there's an easy well-travelled route the Apple way,...

Re: Room treatment

I moved to my current house 18 months ago. I have too many books, and I decided to get a built-in bookcase made which would entirely fill one wall of my living room. It took a long time to persuade the carpenter who had agreed to make the bookshelves to actually come and measure up, so it was about ...

Re: How to Wash Records according to Discogs

This is timely. I have one or two REALLY filthy records and I'm not sure what to do with them. I'm tempted by the warm and soapy water for those... As I seem to remember somebody saying on here few years ago: "Get a CD player! Problem solved! Next!" Wow that's quite an involved process. I...

Get away with your sense.
I didn't get the hi-fi gear I have today by using sense!

Sorry to hear of your accident, Ivor! Hope it heals well and soon!

Re: What's the difference between a digital coaxial cable and a standard rca interconnect?

The digital cable theoretically needs to support a wider bandwidth than the analogue cable, but I'm sure the analogue cable would work. Would you hear a difference? I wouldn't put money on it! The longer it is the more difference it will (would theoretically) make.
