3.56 is incredibly good. But I had a couple of times when in mid-track it stopped outputting music altogether, although the DOS Window was still showing it running. I appreciate that could be system specific but I have not had that with any previous versions and so wonder if the changes to 3.56 mig...

3.59 sse2 sounds cleaner and more natural for me than any other version (also better than avx 3.39 avx I preferred until 3.59).
3.59 avx sounds kazoo also in my system - unfortunately.

I guess you mean software for remote controlling. Well, I use TightVNC-Server on my headless PC, remoting it by a Android tablet.
This works without affecting SQ.

Hi, I agree with Aleg, that 3.08 avx is the best sounding version for now. The later versions 3.09 ... 3.11 are too harsh in my ears. Also the 3.08 SSE2 sounds too harsh. I hope that further versions will develop more in the direction of 3.08 avx. Also earlier versions eg. 2.62 (mentioned by 3daudio...
