Re: Hifi plans for 2021?

You can count me out of this thread Simon. I ran it by Anne and unfairly in my view I was told to come back and talk about it in 2025 or preferably not at all unless it is about downsizing.

Re: Lockdown & Covid fever relieving New Speakers Tannoy Legacy Cheviots

Thanks guys, certainly from a first world point of view visiting friends to hear or see the latest very much needed toy is a hard cross to bear! Much more severe loss of freedom compared to a pint drinker missing his local pub. :) Musical bedside lockers that gave me a good laugh. Skewered with beau...

Lockdown & Covid fever relieving New Speakers Tannoy Legacy Cheviots

Well lockdown plays on ones mind and I spent a chunk of the year considering getting a new pair of speakers. I started off on my usual route which was second hand through the UK. Spendor SP100R2's caught my eye and I had a fancy for large 3-way speakers with a large 12inch woofer. Lockdown and openi...

Re: Coffee supplies

I have used BadgerandDodo but be aware their prices are higher than Adams.Freepost available and given the prices it is easy to reach the minimum spend! I know you don't go for DiscountCoffee but I have found it ok. Not at the level of Adams or Coffee Compass but very reasonable. Nicks hard to beat ...

Re: Happy Christmas 2020!

Happy Xmas Ivor indeed a strange year. Fingers crossed a few more months and things will start to look a lot differently then last year and meeting up will become achievable. For once being older might pay off as hopefully we will be set free by the jab asap and can hit the disco before the young on...

Re: wtfplay project - it's official

Fryderyk has again managed a sound quality improvement to wtfplay. On my gear, with 0.7.5 there is a noticeable and pleasing SQ bump up in many respects. More detail right across the board. Notable were instruments coming out of a black background, clear & delineated bass and vocals beautifully...

Would echo Ivor's sentiments in relation to your father.

Best place in Ireland is Adverts and as Ivor advises he has a lot of stuff there that would be interesting to people. You can advertise here also but you will get a much smaller audience.

Re: New Linear Reg PSU. PC won't boot

A picture might help of exactly how you are set up. Not sure Fran on 10.5V. On my MSI board it needs to be close to 11.95V to boot up. You might get it to bios alright at 10.5V I think Iain you need to check as you are doing with another PC to see if either supply will power a PC up. Then your probl...

Re: New Linear Reg PSU. PC won't boot

:) That's a long time ago! Apologises if it is any consolation Nigel and Pearse have both got graveyards of mobo's from working on this stuff. My guess is you have not got enough voltage to power up the pc. You will need to get a supply on it that is over the 12v. I have had constant problems over t...
