Re: David Adams at St. Michael's

I'll do that. I don't like always harping on about organ concerts, cos I know they're a niche interest, but we're genuinely fortunate to have some really top-drawer players living and performing locally.

David Adams at St. Michael's

It's a little known fact that, despite being an organist myself, I struggle to *really* enjoy the vast majority of organ concerts I attend. No such problems last Sunday at St. Michael's in Dun Laoghaire, where David Adams put in an absolutely awesome display of musicianship and virtuosity. Even Derv...

Re: Guns n' Roses

Yeah, that's about right. The band worked very hard and played well, in truth I felt a bit sorry for them having to put up with Axl's vagaries. Axl himself seemed to sing better when standing still than when jumping around, so in that sense things were good (he stood in the middle of the stage sulki...

Re: Electronica - what are you listening to?

I just thought of another album that I own and really like: Lifeforms, by FSOL. Quality stuff.

Does that count?

Re: Electronica - what are you listening to?

I actually possess a little bit of ambient/electronica as it is, but I'd like to know more. At the moment I've got some Orb, some Orbital, a little Aphex Twin, and that's about it. Still, I think there's a huge amount of overlap between modern classical and electronica. First time I ever heard Aphex...
