Re: Quad ESL

Maybe imagination but really big improvement in my Quads tonight. Floor has been double joisted from beneath with a double slab of plasterboard and everything is really tight sounding. Using the ciunas dac with the pc. The lampi still needs to be soldered up! I think that just proves that Ciunas is...

Re: Music Room Glasgow pics

YAMAHA A-U670 YAMAHA CD-NT670D Zingali Zero Bookshelf speakers was the only combo i heard, sounded much better than i had expected, but more importantly the type of sound was right up my street, fast, accurate and airy with fantastic depth was really hoping to hear the ZINGALI Twenty Evo 1.2 after ...

Re: Wow! - look at these handmade speakers

I used the exact same tools to build my speakers and everything else!
The 5 minutes job became 5 hours job, but that's a hobby and I find the joy in that building process!

Another thing is the cost, because, I had no idea if this would be another of my projects to end up on scrap .....AGAIN!

Re: wtfplay project - it's official

Hi Fryderyk, excellent! Clearness improved again, Thomas +1 excellent version and new enhancements are very useful and worthwhile. Maybe skip to next track if that is possible would be a nice option. I assume navigating whilst listening is a non runner? It is something I did enjoy using totalcommad...

Re: Build a dedicated Audio PC

When I built my PC I built with RAM OS in mind and bought 16GB RAM.
Since I don't use the RAM OS, I'm thinking to go with 2x2GB RAM.
I'm using MQn and WTF.

Would that make any audible difference?

Re: wtfplay project - it's official

Hang in there Adam as you are at the cutting edge with that chain you have there :-) I know what it is like and it is worth the effort, just when you think you should stop another option gets added which you end up forging the way ahead on for everyone else. I will give you another story regarding ...

Re: wtfplay project - it's official

Adam, Please try this: Instead of JCAT Femto, use ordinary USB port on you motherboard and tell me if this makes a difference. On 192kHz. I can read on the product webpage, that it supports 192kHz, so I see no reason why this value should not be displayed. http://sonicweld.com/index.php/2012-02-24-...

Re: wtfplay project - it's official

Yes, this is my chain: JCAT FEMTO USB => JCAT usb cable => JCAT Isolator =>10-15cm DIY usb cable => ifi ipurifier2 => Sonicweld. At the moment I don't have Regen. Mine died and I'm still looking to find used one. When I disconnect Sonicweld, after WTF boot, the only thing that change is the 192khz g...
