Re: MQN
I haven't a clue how an non-Haswell version would sound but that's what I'd need along with many others. BHE is doing well currently though it's a PITA in terms of setup and time delays.

Re: Bug Head Technology Music Player
Are you using the full stardust x2 mode? I just compared with jplay 6 "Come pick me up" by Ryan Adams. Cymbals are just unbelievable on my system! Black background and instrument separation is amazing! I hope what I am hearing is not something added by Bug Head, but actually on the record...

Re: Bug Head Technology Music Player
I can only compare the later non-Haswell MQn versions from sometime back. In command line and black screen mode BH offers a significant improvement. Without the tweaks they are level pegging.sebna wrote:How would you rate it in compare to MQN?

Re: Bug Head Technology Music Player
I have to say that using Ken's settings I'm getting stunningly good results with 4.88 Infectiously good. I just wish it was possible it would start up faster. Maybe the start up ceremony adds to the experience, rather like handling an LP.

Re: Bug Head Technology Music Player
Clive , click on Normal ,top left of your final screen you get lots of tuning options including Blade 4. I think the Command Line/Black Screen is excellent , just click immediately to the right of LPF on the same screen and you'll get a new screen where you can select these items. Do it for an albu...

Re: Bug Head Technology Music Player
I still can't find Blade 4. I see Blade 10 but the options on that box don't include any other Blades. I clicked Normal on the setup screen but there aren't any other options there. I'm clearly missing something obvious!

Re: Bug Head Technology Music Player
Since 4.82 I've tried the later versions and whilst impressive, tight and detailed I don't find them quite as compelling as 4.82. At first versions from 4.83 to 4.87 come across as detailed and open but on some material instead they sound over-bright and this is with turning off shape clear sound an...
