Re: USB Cables, worth it ?

I'm very happy with my JCat USB ( http://jplay.eu/jcat/ ). This JCat is an improved upon PPA cable made by Paul Pang himself based on specifications from the JPlay developers. 300€ is a bit rich for a usb cable, unless, of course, it made an uncontestable leap forward sound quality wise, I'd pay th...

Re: USB Cables, worth it ?

No takers here Peter try PFM? Don't think anybody is using those cables. PPang, Wireworld, Audioquest and cheapo's are ones I am familar with i.e have heard some and know people who have them. The latest PPang cables certainly look well made. Can't comment on whether they do anything as I haven't h...

Re: Peek

Lads I am looking at this thread in a totally different light.Of course I have had a nice experience on PFM so maybe I am a bit twisted. Thoroughly enjoyed reading it Mr Toy is only toying(Pardon de pun) with the mad objectivists posting on that forum. Of course he could completely believe it but i...

Re: MQN

Did you try to copy files straight from JRiver and paste them into MQn.bat? I do it all the time. I like JRIver's GUI, and it's very convenient rather than moving around through folders with explorer. If you notice somewhere back in the thread, I posted how to activate HotKey, so I do not even leav...

It may not work for some other people too, that's way I tried to point to it to help to mjock3. Somehow "chcp 65001" in it doesn't work on my computer.
I am still running old version of MQn.bat.
Same for me under W7

Re: MQN

Is there, yet, a 24 bit version that will play 16/44 ?

I'm aksing coz' my V-Link-II appears to want 24 bit packets to work with, and when I first tried 2.59 it didna work.

Re: MQN

Just plunked 2.64 Intrinsic SSE4 into computer. Listening to Diego El Cigalo "Tango y Cigala", a live recording. It's sometimes a bit fierce. I'm finding this version very poised, makes it easier to get the musical message.

Like this version of 2.64 MQn.

Re: MQN

I find that it takes too long (Let's say an album's worth of tunes from the NAS) to load, to be a real winner. TBH, I'm not yet convinced it's any better than JRiver MC19 when JRiver is fed the same files. JRiver runs faster, probably because it loads one song at a time into memory. Should have sai...

Re: MQN

I think noise level is somehow down comparing to the other players which brings more .... I will let other experts to measure it and to figure out what exactly those bits are doing under SBGK's control. Tantamount to saying that the bits is bits are cleaner bits, somehow ? Less noise getting to the...
