Re: Computer Audio Blasphemy, nige tries Another SD Card Player

john, what pin was system clock? I'll have to look at the datasheet - hold on - I believe it is (OSC_in) pin 23 on the 144pin STM chip Another interesting piece from the datasheet Designing hardened software to avoid noise problems EMC characterization and optimization are performed at component le...

Re: Computer Audio Blasphemy, nige tries Another SD Card Player

Speaking of Arduino, just wondering if there were any feasible ways to give our SLC cards a boost by feeding both power and clock separately? Yea, definitely worth trying particularly as the SD card reader on the current SD player appears not to be the most robust & would benefit from being cha...

Re: Computer Audio Blasphemy, nige tries Another SD Card Player

I see there's a stm32f767 development board http://ie.farnell.com/stmicroelectronics/nucleo-f767zi/dev-board-nucleo-32-mcu/dp/2546569?CMP=i-ddd7-00001003 Is there any point trying coding ourselves? I'm pretty sure I have some of the STM Discovery kits (I bought them a long while ago) & I can se...

Re: Computer Audio Blasphemy, nige tries Another SD Card Player

Hope to get looking at it over the weekend, but it looks doable. I have a very rough block diagram worked out, but it will take some coding and testing to see how it goes. Basic idea is to get the ESP to see what the STMF04 chip sees and then replicate the button presses. If that works, then move o...

Re: Computer Audio Blasphemy, nige tries Another SD Card Player

Been hunting the net again for SLC cards and the best price I could find was here: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Integral-Endurance-16GB-Class-10-SD-SDHC-SLC-INSDH16G10-ENDU-Industrial-SD-/170939143730 Going to try them and see if they are the real deal or not as it does seem cheap for 16Gb SLC. Final...

Re: Bitcoin Adoption

Very interesting Bitcoin journey & posts, Pearse Like Simon, I managed to avoid investing in Bitcoins even though I knew a bit about the technology & it fascinated me from that persepctive So, although the technology was interesting, I'm not very well versed in financial markets & couldn...

Re: Computer Audio Blasphemy, nige tries Another SD Card Player

For the mapping are you just using a continuity test to find destinations from each of the legs of the chip or is there some other way of doing this mapping? Not being well clued up on how to work with heavily populated boards I am reluctant to volunteer unless i have an idea what to do, I know in ...
