Re: Soekris Dam Dac
anything ive tested with a regulator post batteries caused a sq bottleneck, cant see how supercaps would be any different so basically what this guy built is a uptone supercap ps clone? which its implementation makes little sense to me i would have thought a supercap ps best chance of good sq is co...

Re: Soekris Dam Dac
Guys an a$$. Greg wrote a really good response, its what I was thinking but too lazy to write lol Don't pay him any attention. I was also thinking about asking if it really sounds better if you turn off the ps, and just run off of cap, but I have a feeling he has already decided it you need to swit...

Re: Soekris Dam Dac
Just wondering now did this guy actually do any experiments or did he just take an idea and ran with it Bit rich coming from me but Ps does seem really complicated and it needs serious justification to my mind Guys an a$$. Re: Soekris Dam Dac
I thought the Uptone Supercaps supply already did all of this as regards charging offline. Yes, it does & as with any such approach a voltage regulator is needed on the supercap output to maintain a stable voltage - not an optimal solution, IMO, for best sound as I have found when compared dire...

well if theres transformers required anyway may be as cheap to get ones with multiple secondaries rectified into multiple 2$ tp5000 and yr done special order traffos are not any more expensive than the off the self variety whos been stating supercaps are better than lifepo4? any merit in it No main...

Re: Soekris Dam Dac
Here's a solution which is scalable for charging any number of batteries in series: - use an isolated, regulated DC-DC converter on each battery The ones I use are TDK Lambda - they come in a range on input voltages, regulated 3.3V, 5V & other output voltages as well as a range of current output...

Re: Soekris Dam Dac
For single LiFePo4 battery you can use charger boards based on TP5000 IC - very low back leakage & no need for switch or relay to isolate battery Indicator Led to show CC/CV charging & fully charged - 2 Amp CC when used with small heatsink, otherwise 1-1.5Amp & 3.6V max voltage Using so...
