I'm not an expert or work in this particular area but I have some experience with older properties abroad from the 1870's. A lot of issues are caused by older properties having modern measures added to them. This is an 1985 bungalow with dormer extension to the attic... we moved here 3 years ago fr...

Thanks again all... the windows aren't a problem and the issue of cold bridging is something Id be aware of... but a reminder is always useful.
It will be a week or two before we get active on quotes...

Anybody else contemplating the real value of €€€ digital front end upgrading versus the onslaught of budget overachievers? If the spray foam installer doesn't use "cards" there is a danger of lack of air circulation between the roof membrane and the insulation, build up of moisture and then rot. Lots of cases in the UK apparently where spray was just sprayed directly on under the membrane. Yes, I do remember ...

Have you spray foam already done on the attic/eaves? No, we do have insulation between rafters but need to complete the attic job as well. If the foam can be done from the outside (it seems it can) it's a definite option. Interior work is very intrusive. Neighnours got it done and while it worked w...
