Re: Time to say...... Goodbye?

It's true about the younger generation not getting into this hobby. A couple years ago my niece (about 20 years old at the time) came over to my house, I have my home cinema and hifi set up together so we were listening to music through youtube. She had spotify and I tried to play it though my strea...

Re: Time to say...... Goodbye?

That's sad to hear. I check in a lot but rarely post as I feel most here are far more knowledgeably than me and I don't upgrade much. Remember the days of cloney newsletters physically sent out, then cloney forums and lastly tirnahifi. Hope the Hifi hobby in Ireland does not fizzle out. Thanks for t...

Re: Help! Belt coming off at 45rpm

Hi Fran Yes I can see 2 screws holding the motor I think holding the motor to the top wooden base. The middle is a hole which I presume is a grub screw which I don't have a clue what you use to adjust. Now looking closely I think an Allen screw is missing as well holding the chassis? There's a simpl...

Help! Belt coming off at 45rpm

Bought a systemdek iix900 for a spare system. Wanted to buy a cheap tt to play with and it seems to have good reviews but maybe I should have started with rega. Plays 33rpm at the upper rotating pulley, I think you call it, ok. But when I change the belt to the lower 45rpm the belt starts to move up...

Re: Does anyone own Sonus Faber Elipsas?

Look wise the elipsas when you see them you think "expensive" the shop had a range of SF in a line and I was afraid to touch anything in there in case I knock something over and had to pay for it. Want to get a devialet, they sound just so smooth but the idea of sending a few €ks across ma...

Re: Does anyone own Sonus Faber Elipsas?

Saw a pair in Hong Kong last year in an expensive looking hifi shop and they really look the business so to speak. Good luck with them, I'm looking to buy an amp from eu and I am hemming and hawing over the shipping but a pair of elipsas your a bigger man than me!

Re: Future of B+W speakers

Actually €7k for the 805d3 the guys in cloney say the new range is far superior to the old d2 but didn't get to hear them. They look odd but probably just takes time.
There's actually a nice ex demo 804d2 there for €5k which is actually a good price and sounds good.
