Re: Build a dedicated Audio PC
To build yourself is more economical.. When i have the S3B in house John, I can loan it to you for a week or two But I don t know when I can buy one. I can get my hands on a prototype DEQX IV (192khz) If yes then I must stall the purchase of the S3B BTW what are the ADUM chips? I mistook them for th...

Re: Build a dedicated Audio PC
Kyrill, Thanks for the answer/info. Ground, however is a tricky concept. All it is is a reference. It is not necessarily 0 volts. In fact it hardly ever is 0volts as your mains measurement shows. The important thing with references is that they are stable. If the reference fluctuates, it will cause...

Re: Build a dedicated Audio PC
is there any benefit to moving from USB to FireWire or thunderbolt?? maybe? But just as Blu-ray won from HD-DVD so USB is winning form the rest. Commercially and marketing wise, surely not because it has better audiophile electrical properties. Still more and more research and motivation to improve...

Re: Build a dedicated Audio PC
Not yet. I don't need too. The Adnaco is a much much more high end approach to the same goals as the Olimex has. And I know already how good the Olimex sounds. Add to that Marcin's enjoyment about the S3B and my conclusion is made. Still I explained the odd service the S3B will do to the Adnaco guys...

Re: Build a dedicated Audio PC
Hi Ken Speed of the Olimex? USB 1.0 Not awful enough to put it aside... It is awful, I agree, but it is worth a try, inc shipping less than 50 € and its effect alone equals or surpasses JPlay. The two together? Definitely high end. For 345 € extra you have > all the SQ benefits, I suspect even bette...

Re: New JKDAC32 USB DAC
Tony You can easily do that yourself (EMI absorbers) As for integrating the DAC into a miniPC... would open a different slice of the market.. Lol John, you would be the first. But it will be much more expensive but easily within the knowledge and capability of John. The trick will be to find a nice ...
