Re: Headphones to replace speakers

Alan Parsons Tales of mystery... half speed remaster

I just bought the record in the subject and I realised it is the remaster of the original 1976 version, not the expanded 1987 version. Nothing wrong with that, just to inform in case you are interested. I only had the '87 version, so can' t make direct comparisons, but the quality in general is very...

Re: Jambo81 on Adverts

He is a name that I noticed myself on Adverts, given the amount of HIFI stuff that he is selling. He could be a person with electronics skills that buys the devices through internet, fix them and resell them to get an income. I met a similar person when I was living in Milan, which I contacted for a...

Listening to this one right now: not exclusively for King Crimson fans. And a very good recording quality indeed.

Re: Record player suggestions

Thanks so much for the comprehensive reply. Have followed you guidance, but honestly I think there may be an issue with the phono stage. When plugging in the red channel, the sound is barely audible. When plugging the white channel, sound comes from both speakers, but off to the left. Funnily enoug...

Re: Pairing modern speakers with vintage amp??

Thanks for all reply i will look into those lonpoo speakers, I see Amazon only, will they perform well as they 4ohm with 2x35w amp??? Although there is no impedance graph for the Lonpoo, their stated impedance is 4-8Ohm. Considering the target of those speakers I guess they are an easy load for any...

Re: Pairing modern speakers with vintage amp??

I forgot to add that you could also buy the cheaper Lonpoo lp42 speakers, that received a brilliant review on tnt-audio.

Re: Pairing modern speakers with vintage amp??

Things will definitely improve using modern speakers in place of the Kenwood ones, but I am afraid you will soon realise the amplifier is the bottle neck at that point. Anyway, if it a trial to test your son interest in hifi, then I would give it a try: I guess most of us have started in a similar w...
