Re: CDs for sale

Hi Jaw,

The Quatermass album is already gone, but the other three are still available. Do you need them to be posted? In case I will calculate how much it will cost.

CDs for sale

I hope I am not breaching any rule of this forum by using this space to sell some software rather than hardware. Ready to remove the topic in case. Here is a list of preloved CDs that I don't need anymore for different reasons (more copies in different formats, change of taste, need for space): Mate...

Re: Help with Speaker Setup

I agree with the fact that the speakers position is the main issue and moving them should be the first option. But considering the family agreement I would also test different listening positions, possibly closer to the speakers: you could find a sweet spot where you can move a chair for "serio...

Vinyl records brush

Some time ago, while wondering in the Organised Store (Dundrum commercial center) I noticed a tool for desktop and pc: https://www.amazon.co.uk/OXO-12246100UK-Laptop-Cleaner-Plastic/dp/B07W1L7TCF/ref=asc_df_B07W1L7TCF/?tag=&linkCode=df0&hvadid=394256074558&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=...

Re: GOLDEN DISCS

Totally agree. These kind on chain music stores have been the first ones to try to kill the vinyl records after the commercial success of the CD, and now they are promoting it again as the format to buy. And their message is that you can easily enjoy the amazing analog sound using a cheap Crosley pl...

Re: EU HIFI shops/ dealers

Has anyone tried just jumping on a cheap flight and bringing stuff back in hand luggage ( … with all the appropriate declarations of course 🤫)? I would have thought you’d squeeze most sources and smaller amps into the overhead! I did that few yers ago before coming to Ireland. Manley dealer had cra...

Re: Darko doorstops

I use a similar one to help limit the vibrations resonating on the top of the cabinet of my cd player.

Good to see they can be used for other hifi issues. I wouldn't be too surprised to see, sooner or later, an audiophile version selling at 300 euro...

Re: Speakers I have owned over the years, what about you?

Like many I started with a full Pioneer system, but the first proper speakers were a pair of Italian Indiana Line Arbour bookshelf of the 80s, with yellow woofer (like B&W but don't know if it was kevlar). Then I tried my first diy attempt with the TNT Audio Munis + Trentino project. Later I had...

Re: Looking for a woodworker

Hi Adrian, Thanks a lot for your sugestion. They are also based in Dublin which makes a great difference to me. I am still trying to understand if the person who offered initially is still interested, but at a certain point I will have to make a decision: I am quite tired to see those two speakers l...

Re: Looking for a woodworker

Hi Robbie,

Thanks a lot for your suggestion. Maybe I have found already a person (a friend of a colleague), but due to our holidays during the summer we couldn't meet yet.
The distance from Dublin could be a problem, but I will consider Bear Creation as a back-up.
