I agree with Fran's assessment, the problem is where the loudspeakers are sited. I think you should try what Fran has suggested, siting them away from free space behind and see what happens. If that works, can you try and reconfigurate the room to make the loudspeakers fit in.

From memory the Cereballs are expensive for what they are! Not sure if they will be a solution. Here is a link that might help you decide what to do...

I definitely think the loudspeakers need something behind them to get them to sing. It's a pity you don't have a wall that they could sit in front of and then you can 'tune' the speakers in the room.

I went to see Whitesnake playing at the SFX Hall in 1984, my mate and I left after 15/20 minutes or so. It was SO loud! Our ears were ringing for a couple of hours afterwards but the few drinks helped.

Also Dundrum Shopping Centre, any time I went into Liffey Valley Golden Discs and they didn't have the LP I wanted, the guy behind the counter said that Dundrum is their warehouse and they would have it. Huge stock there!

I read recently that the Golden Discs shop in Dun Laoghaire was closing down.

Was down in Liffey Valley shopping centre and was surprised that Golden Discs have closed their shop there! It used to be HMV, now there is no record store there. A shame!
