Re: Clock radios. Anyone heard a Ruark R1 mk3?
I have a Tivoli Model 2 and we also have a REVO. My wife prefers the REVO, class D amp, slightly clearer on speech, and good on bluetooth from her iPad. I prefer the Tivoli, especially in stereo, with separate speakers less than 1 metre from my ears - good illusion of space, for a two inch driver. I...

Re: Computer Audio Blasphemy, nige tries Another SD Card Player
I messed a bit with the Op amps after letting the unit burn in for a lot of hours playing tracks which helps. Taking out the back single Op amps drops volume but I think it sounded better when volume corrected but not sure, it did however add a loud pop between tracks so stuck them back in. Could y...

Re: Computer Audio Blasphemy, nige tries Another SD Card Player
I got a boxed version of this SD player to fiddle with a month ago, but ear problems stopped me listening properly until now. Mine seems to work fine on 44.1, 48, 96/24, and 176/24, but not 88.2/24 sample rates. DSD64 works fine, but not DSD128 or DSD256. A Sandisk SDHC 4Gb card works well, and some...

Re: What are you listening two?
On the radio I heard some of Isabelle Faust playing the Bach V+H sonatas. I really like her style - a mixture of modern and baroque - with plenty of cool intensity!! But my favourite recording is my LP of Alice Harnoncourt and Herbert Tachezi, issued as a box set some 40 years ago.

Re: Recommend a service centre?
Is the buzz constant, or does it come and go, as mine did, which I eventually traced to DC on the mains?

Re: MQN
I seem to remember reading somewhere in the "Audiophile Optimiser" notes that Server 2016, unlike Server 21012, does not include Kernel Streaming, which is used by MQn. And that AO has a way of putting it back in. Check it out, as my memory is not very reliable.

Re: MQN
Yesterday I installed W10 pro creators update - more new things to disable! This made the Microsoft usb audio drivers the default. It seems to work fine. The usb addresses (param.txt) are unchanged, but I had to rerun paste to get MQn to work. Difficult to change drivers to make subtle comparisons. ...

MQN - Beginner's Guide
I have put together a Beginner's Guide to MQn - attached (if I could attach a txt file). Hope it's useful. Maybe it could be pinned to the start of the topic. -------------------------------------------------------- MQn setup - Windows 10 and Windows Server 2012 R2 - 6 Dec 2016 MQn music player for ...

Re: MQN
"Is 16/44 flawed anyway, due to the brick filter ? What bit depth/frequency would be better ?" Isn't 24/96 usually the baseline for hirez? I would put in a plea for 16/48 at some convenient stage, both for DVD audio tracks, and also for 320k internet radio downloads, which sound so much be...
