Re: wtfplay project - it's official

Adam, Please try this: Instead of JCAT Femto, use ordinary USB port on you motherboard and tell me if this makes a difference. On 192kHz. I can read on the product webpage, that it supports 192kHz, so I see no reason why this value should not be displayed. http://sonicweld.com/index.php/2012-02-24-0...

Re: wtfplay project - it's official

Adam, as Pearse is saying boot wtfplay-live and run snd_scan. If it shows nothing, try to unplug your USB/SPDIF converter, plug it back and run snd_scan again. As far as I understand you have multiple devices/cables between your PC and the converter. Try to unplug/replug cables at various stages of ...

Re: New Year's Hifi Resolutions

I built it a few years ago, but I have not been using much - similarly as the turntable. I you would like to try it out ju...

Re: It didn't explode....... YET (aka niges amp)

I was thinking about something like this. The ingredients are:

* L-shaped aluminium bar: 80x20mm, 2mm thick
* M3 threaded rod
* silicon mat
* M3 nuts

Re: wtfplay project - it's official

@sima66: It is very interesting what you are saying about the defragmentation. Defragmenting a filesystem on a SSD causes a lot of writes being done and shortens the SSDs life a bit.

Re: wtfplay project - it's official

@sima66: The best advice has been given - try the ordinary SATA cable to see if it makes a difference. Also try the different SATA port on your motherboard. Another idea that I have is to check the filesystem on that disk for errors. Maybe there are errors there that your Windows installation decide...

Re: Get together in Nige's

A big thanks to Nige for hospitality and to his Mom for the great dinner. Also, thanks to Tony for the lift and the little site-seeing. That indeed was a quite interesting day. I had the first opportunity to listen to Nige's amp and his SD card transport+Soerkris combo. The amp is the top-class - no...
