Re: Rock - what are you listening to?
Two of KC's weirdest offerings? I had absolutely no chance of even getting to the end of Side One of 'Lizard' back in those hazy days. Hated it with a vengeance. Roll forward almost 40 years and only now it is starting to make sense lol! 'Islands' is only a recent buy. Completely bypassed me. Wonde...

Re: Rock - what are you listening to?
Two from the dusty vaults...... Two bands in their infancy trying to be brave to do something different.... http://i404.photobucket.com/albums/pp125/dermot1/image_zpspjm3ns2w.jpeg I remember striking parallels between In the Wake of Poseidon and King Crimson's debut - perhaps most notably on "...

Re: Rock - what are you listening to?
The Live Taste (from Montreux) was a few months earlier and because the sound from both wasn't great and with a similar track listing it was hard to ascertain which was the superior performance. Actually I must go back and have another listen just to see :) Still it's the sheer energy of the band t...

Re: Rock - what are you listening to?
Stage Struck, believe it or not, was another album I passed on because I instinctively felt it wasn't up to much. @Cybot and Tweber - I had another listen to Stage Struck because it seems to divide opinion more so than Rory's other albums, perhaps as its very different to his other quirkier live al...

http://www.raw-tcsd.com/FrijidPink.FR.17044.jpg A whacky late-1960s hard rock version of House of the Rising Sun, which still works surprisingly well! Now there goes a man with a modicum of taste :) Brilliant! I must dig out my ancient 7" and relive that 'scene' :) Cheers Cybot - you have a gr...

Re: Tube amp repair
Sounds like it needs some problem solving so an engineer with a fair bit of experience of valve technology would be important & the circuit schema would help. If you're on the Northside of Dublin, a pro-audio engineer called John Kane might be worth ringing.
